Research prototypes

Interactive tools that come out of our research. They are prototypes: access is by a code from the group, with a limited budget per code.

FE Agent: 3D view of the von Mises stress in a cantilever beam clamped at one end and loaded at the tip, highest at the clamped end, where the maximum is marked

FE Agent

An AI agent with access to verified finite element tools: it interprets your engineering question, the tools compute. Describe an analysis in plain language and the agent plans it, calls validated FE tools to build, check and run the model, and explains the results against hand calculations. You watch every tool call and can check the input deck, the mesh, 3D stress contours and charts.

Start from a cantilever beam or a plate with a hole, or describe your own problem. Every model is checked before it reaches the solver, Ansys MAPDL, which runs in a sandbox. Keeping interpretation apart from computation follows the DUCTILE approach (Journal of Mechanical Design, 2026).
